Kupwara, January 31 (KNO) : Welcoming Omer Abdullah’s statement that if voted to power NC will remove PSA, AIP President Er Rasheed on Thursday said that “let us hope that at least over this issue NC shows consistency and commitment.” Interacting with various deputations in Kupwara today, Er Rasheed as per a statement issued to KNO said, “NC had made huge promises from 1953 till date but unfortunately its every promise has added to the eroding credibility of the party leadership for the want of converting promises into reality.” “Let Omer Abdullah not forget that the draconian so called Public Safety Act was introduced by none other than National conference in 1978. Though it took NC leadership 40 long years to understand the dirtiness and ugly face of PSA, let us hope that the promise made by Omer Abdullah proves beyond vote Bank politics,” he said. He said that without entering into any blame game, AIP will offer its full support to NC inside and outside Assembly to get rid of PSA which has made lives miserable for entire Kashmir. “The way NC realized that introducing PSA was a big harsh mistake, a day will come when NC will acknowledge that its demand of restoration of Autonomy has achieved nothing except diluting genuine Kashmir issue,” he added. Er Rasheed while reacting to hue and cry made by New Delhi over Shah Mahmood Qureshi calling Mirwaiz said that “New Delhi had never any concrete policy for Kashmir since 1947 and has just tried to manage the status-quo rather finding a permanent resolution to the seventy year long political dispute.” “When New Delhi was in crises it never hesitated in seeking support from Kuka Parray, knocked Geelani’s door, begged Yaseen Malik and talked to Jamat-I-Islami leaders through track two channel. It also engaged with militant leadership, but all these engagements and hidden talks proved nothing except an attempt to strengthen New Delhi’s narrative on Kashmir,” he added. He said that much talked Vajpayee era was nothing but continuity of New Delhi’s policy to manage status-quo and strengthen policy of deception. “New Delhi wants sincere Kashmiri leadership to use them like rubber stamps and its proxies and the time is right for JRL and other pro-resistance forces to answer if thirty years struggle doesn’t persuade New Delhi for a meaningful constructive dialogue, what is the roadmap ahead available them,” he added.(KNO)
